    • Excess salts/artificial ingredients

    • Alliaceae Family--very deadly! See onions below

    • Aflotoxin Risk unless they have been bred accordingly

  • Dog and cat food
    • high protein and grain free cat food is okay in moderation
  • Fried/Fatty Foods

Foods to Avoid--if given at all do so sparingly
  • iceberg lettuce
    • gives diarrhea
  • nuts/sunflower seeds
    • high in fat--gliders are prone to obesity

Controversial Foods
  • Tofu and Soy Products
    • Pro: good source of protein
    • Con: can cause digestive issues (not proven)
  • Grapes and Raisins
    • Con: possible kidney failure 
  • Fruit Pits, Skins and Seeds
    • Some claim all pits/skin/seeds need to be removed before giving to glider
    • most gliders pick around them, therefore making it unnecessary to remove prior
  • Cat Food
    • Pro: high in protein
    • Con: many health problems could result from feeding cat food including intestinal blockage, lumpy jaw syndrome (from impacted teeth) and even death from improper nutritional balance
  • Crickets
